 CV

I'm a mature interdisciplinary artist who makes colours, paper, prints, poems, books and 3D things.

I use digital photography, historical photographic processes, contemporary mixed media, printmaking and 3D printing processes on paper. A collector of images, an assembler and arranger of mediums and materials, I mix and connect them, giving them a physical, tactile form. I explore the materiality of the photo, from integral film to alternative process prints, including the supports these are printed on.

Interested in poetry and the book arts, I have written and illustrated, designed and printed, handmade and print-on-demand books that feature my art and writing which is free-form or telegraphic (tanka, cinquain, lanterne, microfiction), expressing the moment.

My work is intuitive, based on my experiences, aiming to evoke and engage the viewer through the senses. It explores the interplay of light and darkness, colour,  translucency and textures, mostly through images of faces, hands, bodies, barks and leaves. I strive to evoke notions of time, aging, identity, memory, sensuality, decay, mortality, renewal and transformation that imbue our liminal worlds.

I live and work in Vancouver BC on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I commit to reflecting on colonialism’s enduring legacy and engaging in reconciliation meaningfully.
